![]() ![]() I want to emphasize to any interested - this engine does much much more than just allow you to use a bigger screen size. Screen size, overall performance (anti-lag scripts begone!), and a whole fucking lot more. What I do know, however, is that with the RGD Engine we are unbounded by these limitations. I suspect this may have been why they hard coded such a low resolution cap, as the flaws would have become even more apparent with bigger screen sizes and reflected poorly on them. What I gathered though is that Enterbrain's Game.exe was inherently flawed - it contained a number of bugs that severely capped the performance of any games made in VX Ace. Don't ask me too much about the technical side of it - this is mostly a black box to me. All VX Ace games come with a Game.exe, coded by Enterbrain, which launches the game and interacts with the code in their RGSS301.dll. The RGD engine is a fucking gift from two amazing people who coded a new Game.exe. Though I forgot to toggle the framerate counter on, the game was running perfectly at 60FPS here. Normally, VX Ace does allow you to increase the resolution, but only up to 640x480 - and even with this slight increase there were often noticeable performance declines. This is merely the number I personally decided to settle on for my game. A tile in VX Ace is 32x32 pixels, so this screenshot is 43x25 tiles - compare that to the usual 17x13. For comparison, VX Ace's default resolution is 544x416 pixels (roughly 4:3). This is a screenshot of my game running at 1376x800 resolution (approximately 16:9), I left some of the file browser in the background as a sort of scale. Everyone knows about VX Ace's rather poor screen size though - well. Even now, despite having recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary, and despite having been followed by two arguably more powerful/versatile RPG Maker engines, new games continue to pop up in this community that make use of it (my own included - wink wink nudge nudge go check it out The Serpent's Paradox heheheheh). I'm sure most of you are familiar with RPG Maker VX Ace - some of the most popular games that have ever shown up on this forum were made in it. ![]() I haven't seen anyone mention or make use of it on the site yet (apologies in advance if someone has), and so I wanted to bring it and its capabilities to light for the current and future people who will continue to use VX Ace to create great games for us to enjoy - I hope some of you find it useful. *This is not a new game, rather a new tool for those interested in making games using RPG Maker VX Ace. You could use any font that is in the Windows' Fonts folder excluding the System Font is already using.=-=-=-=-=-=-= The RGD ENGINE =-=-=-=-=-=-=.This has been implemented a way to inject the DLL file directly into the target process(Game.exe), so the anti-virus program may diagnose it as the malware.but actually, some fonts may not be changed. The one core principle of changing the font is to override the class variables named 'fault_name' and 'fault_size' and some constants.A Decryption of the encrypted game resources is illegal, so this tool does not rewrite script files and it will be going to change the default font and font size by injecting the 'RSFont.dll' file during the runtime. This font changer doesn't read font files in the project's Fonts folder, so you should add a font file to Windows' Fonts folder you want and install the font. However, In case of clicking the default executable file called 'Game.exe' directly, it doesn't change the font. As a result, the game will be going to change the font. Please try to run the game using FontPatcher.exe file. You should place both of RSFont.dll and FontPatcher.exe files in the Root Game Directory that has the file called 'Game.exe'.This tool is possible to change the font face of the game that has been made using RPG Maker VX Ace. The Font Patcher is a great tool that can change the game font without editing the game is developed by using RPG Maker VX Ace. ![]()
